Dave is a bit of a design snob, which is why you’ll enjoy the very best experience when you work with him. A qualified graphic designer and illustrator, Dave has worked in the design industry for over 38 years, so he certainly knows his stuff!

Dave creates incredibly innovative designs and promotions for companies operating across a vast range of sectors. He enjoys lasting relationships with clients and loves nothing more than surprising them with creatively strong, professional concepts. Over the years, he has worked with global brands, including Lego, Hoya and Nissan, as well as nationally-recognised names, such as Redrow, Pochin, Royal Insurance, Trinity Mirror Group and Candice magazine.

In addition to designing highly successful promotional campaigns, Dave has a keen interest in developing products for the leisure sector. He was instrumental in the conceptualisation and manufacture of The Grappler, a patented and highly versatile cardiovascular exercise machine. It is used by military rehabilitation units, leisure centres and private gyms across the UK. He is also heavily involved in the development of products for the cycling industry within the Fibrax Group of Companies.

Ellen Parzer

Originally from Bonn in Germany, Ellen brings a truly global outlook to the Mako team and is determined to make the world a prettier place one design at a time!

Qualified in graphic design and a published illustrator, Ellen is experienced in a wealth of creative disciplines, including branding, digital and traditional illustration, typography and calligraphy, design for print, exhibitions, events, signage and web design. She supports clients by helping them to push the boundaries and recognise the possibilities of good design to create highly effective campaigns and promotions.

Prior to joining Mako, Ellen worked for several years in events marketing. She has designed campaigns for one of Germany’s major political parties and was commissioned to produce a calligraphic charter that sits in the golden globe atop the Bonn Minster. Her passion for design, typography and illustration knows no bounds. She can often be found illustrating black and white inked drawings, designing a fashionable clothing range and creating 1940s-inspired travel posters.

Ellen enjoys singing and was a founding member of a female a capella group, which toured small theatres and independent festivals in Germany. A keen cyclist, runner and hiker, much of her spare time is spent out on the trails of North Wales.
